Our Rising Star for October is Yarelis Lopez Martinez. Yarelis was honored by the Escondido Chamber of Commerce this morning at a lovely breakfast and is now in the running for a $1,000 scholarship. Thank you Mr. Brian Gallo for nominating this impressive young lady, who was joined by her mother and brother at this special event.

OGHS Music Department students hosted the 2018 Orange Glen Invitational Field Tournament this past Saturday. After almost 20 years of being absent, competitive marching bands returned to the OGHS Campus and the City of Escondido to demonstrate their incredible talent and artistry.

The clinic is open to everyone in our community from students to our parents, grandparents and even our next-door neighbors so feel free to share it with those you know would benefit from it.

Parents/legal guardians who can't come to the clinic with the students have the option of signing a release form they will get in an email this weekend via email. Students can bring the one-page form signed with them to get their shot.

... that teaches high school aged students how to develop respectful, empowering and collaborative environments that are safe and supportive of all students. Camp LEAD is a 3-day & 2-night residential program designed to train educators, students, and law enforcement partners on how to develop the necessary skills for creating inclusive and collaborative campus and communities. Pick up an application in the counseling office!

The counseling department in conjunction with Ms. Mendiaz will be available for students to work on their College Applications/FAFSA/Dream Act every Tuesday and Wednesday from 8- 2:45 (including lunch and nutrition) October 2nd through November 30th and Thursdays after school from 3-4. We will require a pass from students if they come during class time. This time will be devoted specifically for college application and financial aid purposes and is a great opportunity for students to receive individualized help. Parents are also welcome to attend. Please see the attached flier and help us get the word out to seniors!

Orange Glen High School Student, Armando, was selected as the Escondido East Rotary OG Service Above Self award winner due to his commitment to community and school service! Congratulations Armando!

Despite a tough loss on Friday, the OG Football team played very well, and the whole football team should hold their heads high. One of the plays has been nominated for the KUSI PPR Play of the Week!
