Hello and welcome to my page! I have been an English teacher at Orange Glen High School since the 2007-2008 school year. Before my current tenure at Orange Glen, I worked for the Rancho Santa Fe and San Marcos School Districts. As a former Patriot, I am proud to call Orange Glen home because of its unique, caring environment, its wonderful students, and the mentality of academic success that drives our students and staff.
I currently teach Dual Enrollment Speech and English 11 College Prep courses. A quote from French philosopher Antoine de Saint-Exupery captures my approach to these courses: "The one thing that matters is the effort. It continues, whereas the end to be attained is but an illusion of the climber, as he fares on and on from crest to crest; and once the goal is reached it has no meaning."~The Wisdom of the Sands. I emphasize the necessity of student effort to attain success, and I measure all success through the lens of growth. In fact, it is the clearly expressed goal of the course to leave the students better prepared for not only the following English course but also for the rigor of college. All curricular choices and assignments follow this guiding principle; the way to achieve this goal of measurable growth is through the students' continued effort, which is stressed from the first day of class.
I am available for contact any day of the week after school with an appointment, and I can always be reached through email at

Student grades can be found on Canvas or Parent Vue around each grading period on the links here or on Orange Glen's main page.
