Summer Open Gym Dates The gym will be open to students on June 10, 12, 17, 19 and July 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, 31 from 1:00pm-3:00pm. The cost is $2.00 at the door or $20 for the summer. Come get active!
Family Math Night - 5/15, 5-6pm Family Math Night is Wednesday 5-6pm right before the achievement awards. So if you are coming to the achievement awards, come by a little earlier. We will be located outside of the gym with tables set up to play math games. Some students will be presenting math problems as well. There will be hot dogs and snacks for the first 150 people.

The Sound of PATRIOT PRIDE! The Orange Glen High School Concert Band traveled to the CMEA-SBS Spring Music Festival at Lewis Middle School in San Diego this past Friday night (4/5/19) and received a UNANIMOUS SUPERIOR rating from the adjudicators who were present at the event. This incredible achievement is only made better by the fact that this was the first time many of our Band Program members performed at such an event. Their success is not only a testament to their fantastic artistry, but to their overall character development and personal growth.
Rising Star Student - Escondido Chamber of Commerce Esmeralda Trujillo was chosen as our Rising Star of the Month for the Escondido Chamber of Commerce. Esme is kind, caring, and extremely dedicated to her education. She plans to attend UCLA in the upcoming months.

Event at Orange Glen this Saturday The organization NFL Leagues United is looking to align with high school programs, together with the NFL Alumni Chapter they are hosting a Escondido community Wellness Football Camp from 10am-1pm for girls and boys ages 5-18 at Orange Glen High School. There will be food, drinks, game trucks and laser tag. It is completely free but requires registration through nflalumniwellnesstour.eventbrite.com to accommodate numbers.
Model UN Liz Cassandra and Leo Rocio did an outstanding job at USD this Saturday and Sunday representing Iraq in the Model UN. More than 40 different schools from the county and one from Mexico are represented. They were assigned a country and had to research and develop a perspective of the country in discussing two resolutions. One of the resolutions focused on the threat of pneumonia as a result of the tsunami in the Philippines. The other focused on the protection of the Rohingya in Mynamar and the Citizens of Syria. Thanks to the Rotary Club for sponsoring us!
Foreign Exchange Students at Orange Glen Orange Glen welcomed 41 students and 3 chaperones who are visiting from Niigata Minami Super Science High School this week. Our Japanese visitors were here to participate in a cultural exchange experience with our students in their math and science classes. On Friday, OGHS students joined Niigata students at the Safari Park and Beckman Center for Conservation Research to investigate Desert Tortoise Ecology.
OGHS Students Volunteer at Annual Scrabble-thon Tournament As a member of the Escondido Public Library Friends of Literacy Services Board informed OGHS that, "three young ladies were exceptional and many members were impressed with their work ethic and willingness to try new things." Aside from the volunteer duties, the students participated as players in the Amateur category and were able to meet Mayor Paul McNamara and Councilwoman Consuelo Martinez.
